About J FILBY LTD

In 1957 a local man named James Filby, living in Kinver, Staffordshire, started repairing the local children’s toys in his garden shed. After time, he started repairing the locals caravan and towing requirements. This is how J Filby LTD became to be known. It soon started to get very busy and the first factory location was set up in the heart of Kinver carrying out all types of machining. With J Filby LTD officially founded, James Filby never looked back. The family business was born. Relocation to Brierley Hill happened in 1968, allowing for larger capacity and more capabilities to commit to the forever increasing demand of the heart invested work that J Filby LTD provided to their customers.

MACHINED IN THE BLACK COUNTRY

After the passing of James Filby, his son Ted Filby took the business into his own hands and grew it even further, finding more and more customers who required this old school machining style, providing to all sorts of industries, predominantly the lifting industry.

Now, in the hands of Anthony Filby (Ted’s son), he keeps the traditional machining alive. Still having the reliance on manual machining, a type of machining that is slowly dying, we as a business keep this skill alive. Handed down through three generations of Filby’s, the business is as strong as ever.

Keeping machining in the heart of the Black Country, J Filby have invested to provide its customers CNC capabilities. As a business we can greatly accommodate our machining services to all commercial sectors. All staff are recruited locally, and is solely family run, and we use this to give our customers the most warmest of services.
